We invite you to participate in the first ever Texas Regional HFES One-Day Conference, a forum for sharing information, case studies and new ideas within our community. This community consists of human factors and ergonomics engineers, designers, developers, designated company specialists and students in and around Texas.
A variety of presentation formats have been identified to facilitate both information sharing and socializing within the group. Please consider how you can support the field and participate by presenting examples of your work, practical applications or research interests using the lecture, panel, or poster presentation format.

SUBMISSION PROCESS
Areas of interest include: Aerospace Systems, Aging, Biomechanics, Cognitive Engineering & Decision Making, Communications, Computer Systems, Consumer Products, Education, Environmental Design, Forensics Professional, Human Error and Performance, Individual Differences in Performance, Industrial Ergonomics, Internet, Medical Systems and Rehabilitation, Macroergonomics, Perception and Performance, Safety, Surface Transportation, System Development, Test and Evaluation, Training, Unmanned Systems, and Virtual Environments.
Additionally, there is great interest in submissions that are consistent with our theme of facilitating the translation of empirical research to practical applications. Submissions dealing with these issues are particularly encouraged.
Submissions that are purely commercial in content will not be accepted.
There are three submission categories: presentation, poster, and panel discussion. For each, draft an abstract of the work (up to 500 words) and submit it using the online abstract submission form. Note that for all accepted proposals, one of the authors must attend the meeting to present the work. All conference attendees, including presenters and sponsors, must register for the conference.
Students are encouraged to attend and/or submit their work and have a reduced registration fee. There will be a $100 award for the best student paper and a dinner for the students where they can visit with the presidents of the chapters.

REVIEW PROCESS
A committee of human factors and ergonomics professionals will review your submissions. We will send notifications of acceptance or rejection by email on or before March 15, 2008.
Review of submissions will be based on congruence of the abstract with the theme of the conference, quality and significance of the work, and clarity of the writing.
