Frank Durso is Professor of Psychology at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Coordinator of its Engineering Psychology program. He received his Ph.D. from SUNY at Stony Brook and his B.S. from Carnegie-Mellon University. Frank currently is President-elect of the Human Factors and Ergonomic Society, a member of the National Research Council’s Board of Human Systems Integration, co-editor of the forthcoming Handbook of Human Systems Integration, and coauthor of Stories of Modern Technology Failures and Cognitive Engineering Successes. Frank has served as editor of Wiley’s Handbook of Applied Cognition, as associate editor of the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Applied, and on several editorial boards and panels. He was on the American Psychological Association (APA) Presidential Task Force on Psychology in the STEM disciplines and served as an advisor on NextGen to the GAO. He has been funded by NSF, DOE, and the FAA, the latter for over 20 years. He is currently working on a multi-year contract with CSX Transportation. Frank received the 2011 Franklin Taylor Award for Outstanding Contributions to Applied Experimental and Engineering Psychology from APA. His current research interests focus on cognitive and strategic factors responsible for understanding, managing, and updating dynamic situations such as those found in air traffic control, rail transportation, and critical care nursing. |

brings together human factors and ergonomics professionals and students across Texas.
This is a forum for sharing information, case studies and new ideas within our community. This community consists of human factors and ergonomics engineers, designers, developers, designated company specialists and students in and around Texas. A variety of presentation formats have been identified to facilitate both information sharing and socializing within the group. Hosted by the Houston Chapter of HFES.
