To recognize HFES' National Ergonomics Month, the Houston Chapter of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (H-HFES) joins with the University of Houston, University of Houston-Clear Lake, and Rice University to feature a panel of Human Factors Professionals from the Houston area. Students (and other professionals) will have a chance to meet working professionals from the greater Houston area and hear how the apply their knowledge of and skills in Human Factors to aerospace, medicine, computing, communications, and more. Students may even learn of internship opportunities there.
Our panelists are from 6 different industries and include

We are a growing group of academic and industry professionals practicing in and around Houston, Texas.
Our goals are to promote the growth and understanding of human factors and ergonomics in the local community, which includes the general public, local businesses, and other professional organizations in the greater Houston region, and to provide a setting for human factors/ergonomics professionals to share information and network with others in the field.
Practitioners, students, and academicians with interests in human factors, ergonomics, or related areas are encouraged to join the chapter and participate in its activities.
As our flagship event, we host a one-day conference in the spring of each year. The conferences are designed to provide time for people to share ideas in a variety of formats and to socialize with other ergonomic and human factors professionals. 1. Growth - Grow the size and diversity of our membership, build a dues paying base of committed members, understand that we all have similar needs and endeavor to meet those needs.
2. Outreach - Communicate with the world around us about the need for Human Factors and Ergonomics, build relationships with other local professional societies and local universities
3. Education - Provide a method to exchange ideas, keep up to date with current research, innovations and standards.
1. Annual Conference and Business meeting - a vital part of the chapters year, a full day of focus on the chapter.
2. Regular meetings - a few hours spent together at least 3 times a year, in a varied location, with a varied topic.
3. Facilitate communications - provide a mechanism for members to exchange information and ideas, currently the internet is our chosen solution to this.
