- Claudia Acemyan: Claudia Ziegler Acemyan is a human factors (HF)/human-computer interaction (HCI) researcher. Acemyan completed her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Michigan, M. Arch. at Rice University, M.A. in Architecture at UCLA, and Ph.D. in HF/HCI Psychology at Rice University. Currently, she is the HF Habitability Discipline Scientist and Subject Matter Expert for NASA's Human Factors and Behavioral Performance section at KBRwyle/Johnson Space Center. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Psychological Sciences Department at Rice University. Her work focuses on usable security, the design and development of usable systems, human factors measurements (including trust in systems), mental models, error analysis, and the designed/built environment.

Treasurer

- Carroll Thronesbery: Carroll develops advanced automation for the Engineering Directorate at Johnson Space Center. His roles on these projects emphasizes human-computer interaction with intelligent systems. Recent projects include support for analyzing engineering problem reports and support for software and systems engineers, especially during early system development. He has developed proof of principle prototypes for a storyboard concept of operations tool and a tool for portfolio management of spaceflight medical risks. He has a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Houston.

- Philip Kortum: Phil is a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Rice University. Prior to joining Rice University he worked for over 15 years in the defense and telecommunications industry, where he researched and help field award-winning user-centered systems. His primary interests are in the research and development of highly usable systems in the voting and mobile computing domains and in the characterization of measures of usability and usable systems.

- Natalia Russi-Vigoya : Natalia is a Human Factors Engineer from KBRWyle at NASA Johnson Space Center. She is primarily researching Mission processes and task risk operations experience. In the past, she worked for HP Inc. as a User Experience (UX) and Human Factors Researcher-Intern. She attained her PhD from Texas Tech University, majoring in Industrial Engineering with a focus on Ergonomics and Human Factors. She is an Associate Human Factors Professional certified by the Board of Professional Ergonomist. Through her research, she was able to generate savings in excess of 4-million dollars for HP Inc. In addition, she has contributed technology by submitting ten collaborative patents. Her efforts are aimed at making the user experience better, safer, and more efficient. She likes to learn and share best practices, as well as explore opportunities for future solutions. She is very passionate about UX and human factors, and is driven to learn more about our capabilities and limitations, for the purpose of enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of our interactions.

- Steven Sutherland: Dr. Steven is an Assistant Professor in the Human Factors Psychology program at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. He earned his PhD in Experimental Psychology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in May 2012. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Game Design program at Northeastern University, where he worked on creating video games to better understand how individuals make decisions, what decisions they make, and how we can provide necessary tools or training to improve decision-making. His research lies in the broader areas of human-computer interaction and human judgment and decision-making. His research focuses on understanding expert advice utilization and reliance on automation using virtual environments. 

Elections Director

(Elections Director) - Sarah Acton: Sarah has a BS degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and a MA in Human Factors Engineering. Ms. Acton has nearly 20 years of experience working with various aspects of human behavior and performance in safety critical environments. She began her career working collision-warning systems in automobiles and has also worked in Rail and Military, with the last six years specializing in Oil and Gas. She currently serves as the Human Factors Lead for Baker Hughes, a GE Company. As part of the Performance Excellence team, she provides support to people and projects to strengthen human performance.

(Program Director) - Christy Harper: Christy is the Principal UX Research Manager and Co-owner of End to End User Research. Prior to that she worked at HP managing a human factors research team in the personal systems group. Her area of expertise is contextual and ethnographic research and human factors research applied to new product design. She is a University of Houston-Clear Lake Distinguished Alumni, with a B.S. and M. A. in Psychology.

- Hannah Bowman: Hannah is a UX Researcher at ExxonMobil, with a primary focus in Corporate IT. Her previous role at HP Inc. was the foundation of her career. Her involvement at HP included research on a variety of HP manufactured items such as, soft goods (backpacks, sleeves, and totes), accessories, notebooks, displays, etc. Her educational background includes receiving a B.S degree in Psychology at Morehead State University in 2015 and a M.A. in Human Factors Psychology at the University of Houston - Clear Lake in 2017.

Webmaster

- Andrew Muddimer: Andrew worked for Schlumberger for 20 years, he had various roles in the Human Factors and Ergonomics domain, designing oilfield equipment of all types, wherever people work, cabins, trucks, boats, rigs, anything. Most recently he has been focused on Usability of software for the Oilfield. Andrew holds a BSc from Loughborough University,UK in Human Factors. Andrew is now the Principal Ergonomist at Workplace Sense.
